I was referring to dinosaurs who worked in the ways you have described in previous jobs. That quote is my first hand experience. Perhaps we needed people with your skills who were able to produce great work despite working singlehandedly. Unfortunately that's not what I've seen.

Software is fast paced because customers are fickle. The person who is able to keep up makes the most money.

If you are concerned about being called a dinosaur, perhaps spare a though for those who are being called bastards... I though you weren't some "fragile li’l flower"
